Co-founder, Partner, CEO and CIO

Rob Jesudason

Rob Jesudason is Co-founder, Partner and CEO & CIO of Serendipity Capital. He founded the firm in 2019 alongside long-time colleague Anton Jerga, combining extensive investing, operating, and strategic leadership experience to back founders building companies that will secure and enhance the critical technologies and infrastructure of tomorrow.

Under Rob's leadership, Serendipity Capital has built a global network spanning industry leaders, government and intelligence officials, scientists, and academics, creating differentiated access to investment opportunities across critical technology sectors and helping founders navigate the intersection of innovation, security, and long-term value creation.

Prior to founding Serendipity Capital, Rob held senior leadership roles at some of the world's largest financial institutions, including Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Credit Suisse, Barclays, JPMorgan, McKinsey & Company, and GE Capital. At Commonwealth Bank, he served as Group Chief Financial Officer, Group Executive of International Financial Services (IFS), and Head of Group Strategy, overseeing capital allocation, technology investment, risk management, and major strategic transformation initiatives.

Rob brings deep experience as both an investor and operator, having deployed and overseen approximately US$15 billion of principal investments and led large-scale funding, technology, and infrastructure programs. This experience provides a unique perspective on the adoption, scaling, and strategic importance of emerging technologies. His exposure to critical technologies began well before their mainstream adoption, including oversight of Commonwealth Bank's first investment in quantum computing in 2013 and leadership of major technology modernisation initiatives.

Anton Jerga

Anton Jerga is Co-Founder, Partner and Chief Operating Officer of Serendipity Capital. He brings more than two decades of experience advising, executing, and investing across complex transactions in global financial services and technology markets, with particular expertise in mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and corporate development.

Prior to co-founding Serendipity Capital, Anton held senior corporate development and strategy roles at Commonwealth Bank of Australia, where he led acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures, and other strategic initiatives on behalf of the CEO and Board. He also played a key role in the strategic repositioning of the bank's international operations, overseeing transactions, partnerships, and investments across Asia and other international markets.

Earlier in his career, Anton was a senior member of Citigroup's Financial Institutions Group in Asia-Pacific, advising leading banks, insurers, wealth managers, and financial technology companies on mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, and strategic growth initiatives. Through these roles, he developed deep expertise in transaction execution, strategic evaluation, governance, and operating within highly regulated industries across both developed and emerging markets.

At Serendipity Capital, Anton leads many of the firm's operational, diligence, and transaction activities, helping portfolio companies navigate critical growth milestones while ensuring disciplined investment execution across the firm's global investment platform.

Origination & Investments

Partner, Head of Strategy, Client & Capital Formation
David Knight Legg

David leads Serendipity Capital's fundraising, client engagement and capital formation activities. He brings extensive experience across investment, government, strategy and international business development.

Prior to Serendipity Capital, David was the founding Chief Executive Officer of Invest Alberta, where he led the province's international investment strategy, and served as Principal Advisor to the Premier's Office in Alberta. He has also held senior strategy and business development roles at Commonwealth Bank and continues to serve as Chair of Elements Advisors and Senior Board Advisor to Invest Alberta.

David holds a Ph.D. from Yale University, a Master of Laws from the University of Oxford, a Master of Public Administration from Queen's University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics and Sociology from the University of Lethbridge.

Partner, Head of Investments
Dick Catlin

Dick leads Serendipity Capital's investment team, overseeing investment origination, execution and portfolio management. He brings more than 20 years of experience across private equity, venture capital and private credit investing.

Prior to Serendipity Capital, Dick was Head of Private Investments at Le Mercier's Capital, where he led the firm's private investment strategy across multiple sectors. Earlier in his career, he held investment roles at Citadel Investment Group, Merrill Lynch and UBS Investment Bank, investing across infrastructure, healthcare, telecommunications and real estate throughout Asia Pacific.

Dick holds a Master's degree in Chemistry from the University of Oxford.

Russell Keenan

Russell leads Serendipity Capital's North American business, where he focuses on originating and executing investment opportunities.

Prior to Serendipity Capital, Russell was Chief Executive Officer of EFM Asset Management (Canada). He previously held strategy and business development leadership roles within the International Financial Services division of Commonwealth Bank of Australia and began his career at Deutsche Bank, advising global institutional investors across Asia and Australia.

Russell holds an MBA from Melbourne Business School, a Graduate Degree in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia, and a Bachelor's degree in Business (Accounting) from Federation University Australia.

Kurt Gann

Kurt is based in Boston, and focusses on the origination and execution of investment opportunities in North America. Before relocating to the United States, Kurt led the firm's UK business. He is also a member of the London Quantum Cluster Advisory Board.

Before joining Serendipity Capital, Kurt was a Senior Manager at Bain & Company within its Technology Practice and previously worked at Commonwealth Bank of Australia alongside Serendipity Capital's founders as a member of the Group Strategy and International Financial Services teams. He began his career in investment banking (M&A).

Kurt holds an MBA from London Business School and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales.

Shaun Madigan

Shaun is a member of Serendipity Capital's investment team, where he works across the firm's end-to-end investment process, from developing investment theses through to execution and post-investment portfolio support.

Prior to Serendipity Capital, Shaun held strategy and corporate development roles at Commonwealth Bank in Australia and Hong Kong alongside Serendipity Capital's founders, and at Prudential plc in Hong Kong. Earlier in his career, he worked in investment banking at Nomura, advising on M&A, bancassurance and strategic partnership transactions.

Shaun holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland.

Ginnelle Lim

Ginnelle is a member of Serendipity Capital's investment team, where she works across the firm's end-to-end investment process, including investment research, due diligence, portfolio monitoring and post-investment portfolio company support.

Prior to Serendipity Capital, Ginnelle spent more than six years in investment banking with Goldman Sachs and UBS across London and the Middle East, advising clients in the financial institutions, real estate, leisure and gaming sectors. Earlier in her career, she held roles at the United Nations and EY Singapore.

Ginnelle is a CFA Charterholder and holds a Master of Science in International Economics and European Integration (EGEI), an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's degree, and a First Class Honours degree in Economics from the National University of Singapore.

Shivant Malkani

Shivant focuses on sourcing and analysing investment opportunities and post-investment portfolio company support.

His prior experience included working with startups in the US, UK, and Asia across a range of verticals, including Financial Services, Enterprise Software, Renewable Technology, Sustainable Fashion and Environmental Consulting.

Shivant holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Babson College and is an alumnus of the London School of Economics.

Chief Compliance Officer
Andy Meehan

Andy leads Serendipity Capital's global compliance function, overseeing the firm's compliance framework and regulatory strategy across jurisdictions.

Prior to Serendipity Capital, Andy was Managing Director and Asia Head of Financial Crimes at Morgan Stanley. He previously served as Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Legal, Asia at Gemini, and held senior legal and compliance roles at Credit Suisse, Kobre & Kim, and Akin Gump. Earlier in his career, he served as a Special Agent with the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations.

Andy holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin Law School, a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the United States Air Force Academy.

Principal, Client Onboarding
Alex Leung

Alex leads client management and onboarding for Serendipity Capital.

Before joining Serendipity Capital, Alex worked at UBS, offering strategic advice to Global Family Offices and Ultra High Net Worth clients. Earlier in his career, Alex was part of UBS’s Global Prime Brokerage Division. He subsequently took on roles related to client integration at both Nomura and Lehman Brothers, handling thorough onboarding processes. Alex started his professional path at Goldman Sachs, where he worked on trade surveillance and regulatory compliance.

Alex completed his Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia.

Financial Controller
Julie Gu

Julie has over 15+ years of finance experience in private equity, real estate investment, funds management and audit.

Before joining Serendipity Capital, Julie was finance manager in a real estate private equity fund and an Australian licenced fund manager. She was also previously an external audit manager with PwC.

Julie is a Chartered Accountant of England and Wales and holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from Singapore Management University.

AI Solutions Architect
Elijah Diekmann

Elijah focuses on building proprietary AI tools that sharpen Serendipity’s edge across sourcing, diligence, and portfolio support.

He has experience designing and building AI solutions at IBM and Procter & Gamble, where he developed a strong understanding of how intelligent systems can be designed and integrated to drive meaningful operational impact.

Elijah holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Management from The University of Manchester.

Ewen Stevenson
Ewen is an internationally recognised banking executive with a distinguished track record leading strategic transformation, capital allocation, and value creation across some of the world's largest financial institutions.
During his executive career, Ewen served as Group Chief Financial Officer of both HSBC Holdings and The Royal Bank of Scotland, and previously held senior leadership positions at Credit Suisse, including Co-Head of EMEA Investment Banking and Co-Head of the Global Financial Institutions Group.

Across these roles, he advised boards and management teams on strategy, corporate development, risk management, and major investment decisions, while overseeing significant technology investment, transformation, and M&A initiatives across global financial institutions.

Colin Bell
Colin is an experienced financial services leader with deep expertise in banking, risk management, regulatory compliance, technology, and organisational transformation.
Colin was previously Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Bank plc and HSBC Europe. Earlier in his career, he held senior risk and compliance roles at HSBC, UBS, and Barclays, including Group Chief Compliance Officer and Group Head of Financial Crime Risk at HSBC, and Group Head of Compliance and Operational Risk Control at UBS.
Colin also brings a distinctive technology, security, and defence perspective, having previously served for 16 years in the British Army, including appointments with the UK Ministry of Defence and NATO.

Ruth Cairnie
Dame Ruth Cairnie is an experienced board leader and executive with deep expertise across engineering, energy, defence, infrastructure, and listed-company governance.
Ruth is Chair, Babcock International Group and Senior Independent Director, BT Group plc. She previously spent much of her executive career at Royal Dutch Shell, where she held senior functional and line leadership roles across international markets. She has also served as a Non-Executive Director of Rolls-Royce Holdings, Associated British Foods, ContourGlobal, and Keller Group.
Ruth brings extensive experience leading and advising complex industrial and technology-enabled businesses, with particular strength in strategy, governance, transformation, and the development of critical national infrastructure.

Laurence Lee
Laurence Lee is a national security and defence leader with deep expertise across government, technology, cyber, space, and international security.
Laurence previously served as the
UK’s Second Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence, where he led major national security initiatives and helped drive the modernisation of defence across digital transformation, cyber, space, and advanced technology policy. He served on the Defence Board and the boards of the Army, Royal Navy, and Royal Air Force.
Earlier in his career, Laurence held senior operational and policy roles at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, supporting international security priorities in the UK and overseas. He is also a Senior Advisor to Palantir.

Nicholas Norris
Nicholas Norris is a legal and regulatory leader with deep expertise in cross-border M&A, private equity, corporate governance and international capital markets. He is a Managing Director and Senior Legal Adviser at GLP Capital Partners.
He was previously a Partner at leading international law firms Simmons & Simmons, Skadden Arps and Kirkland & Ellis where he advised multinational corporations, private equity firms and investment banks on complex cross-border M&A, public takeover and private equity transactions.
Nicholas also brings extensive regulatory and public markets experience, including through his work with the Hong Kong Takeovers and Mergers Panel and the Listing Review Committee of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Steve Roder
Steve Roder is a finance and governance leader with deep expertise in audit, regulation, capital allocation, and strategic transformation. He is Chair of Serendipity Capital’s Audit Committee.
Steve was previously Group Chief Financial Officer, Manulife and Group Chief Financial Officer, AIA, and also served as Chairman of Financial Services for KPMG Asia Pacific. He has led and advised global financial institutions through major finance, investment, regulatory, and operating transformation initiatives, with significant experience in Asian and international markets.
Steve has also served on senior investment and transformation committees overseeing technology, venture, process automation, and other strategic investment initiatives.
